Privacy and security
What you have applied for says a great deal about you — where you want to work, where you want to live, what you are trying to get approved. That is not a list we treat casually, and this page is the specifics rather than the reassurance.
Every channel is verified before we use it
We email you a confirmation link before sending anything else to that address. If you provide a mobile number we send exactly one message to it: a one-time code. Nothing further goes to either until you confirm. This protects you from someone else entering your details by mistake or on purpose, and it protects you from us getting a digit wrong.
You are never forced onto a channel
A phone number is optional, and everything the account does works over email alone. Email and text are separate opt-ins, and account alerts and marketing are separate again within each — four independent switches, all off until you turn them on. Nothing about your account or your applications changes based on which you pick.
We don't send sensitive information
Our messages are short and general. They tell you something changed and link back to your account. We do not put sensitive information in them — no account numbers, no documents, no identifying details, nothing explicit or specific about your file. The complete record lives in your account, which is verified and reachable only by you.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Traffic between your browser and eHelpLab is encrypted over HTTPS, and your account data is stored encrypted. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to operate the service and to answer your support requests.
No sales, no sharing, no brokers
We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number, email address, or application list. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The vendors we do rely on — for sending messages and hosting the service — process data on our behalf under contract and cannot use it for their own purposes.
Export whenever you want
Everything you have added — applications, dates, confirmation numbers, notes — exports to CSV on demand. We would rather earn your continued use than rely on the cost of leaving.
Deletion on request, confirmed
Ask us to delete your account and we remove your account and personal information from our system and confirm to you when it is done. Email info@ehelplab.com with "Delete my account" in the subject line, or use the contact form.
What we are actually protecting against
The realistic risk to you is not a sophisticated attack on our servers. It is someone standing next to you seeing a notification, or a shared device, or a phone number typed in wrong by one digit landing your job search on a stranger's screen. Those are ordinary, likely things, and they are what the two main rules on this page are built around: verify the number before using it, and keep the content out of the message.
The consequence is a slightly less convenient product. You have to open your account to find out what changed, because we deliberately will not tell you in the text. We think that is the right trade for this particular kind of information.

Reporting a problem
If you believe you have found a security issue, or you received a message you cannot explain, email info@ehelplab.com and tell us what you saw. We read every one of these, we will not take action against anyone reporting a genuine issue in good faith, and we will tell you what we found.
